New testament
Watching for the coming of Christ 3 things I have been watching and taking heed of
There are deceivers who will purposely try to destroy and confuse us take heed for many false Christ's will come. I always relate the scriptures about the last days to Narnia because I loved the books growing up but now that I'm older I understand them differently. But I always think of trashlan and how the world thinks of god and of shift the ape manipulating people for greed. Once in a religion class we watched a clip of this Puerto Rican guy living in a mansion in Texas. Saying he was the reincarnated Christ. he was so obliviously similar to korihor and the very definition of an aniti Christ. I almost fell over when I realized how many people gave him their money and followed him because he told them he was Jesus and sin didn't matter. So there is a deceiver
I really noticed that earthquakes were listed as a sign of the times. After the one in japan I didn't think how strange. I thought we Shure have had a lot of those lately I really do live in the last days
The church coming to all nations hasn't quite been fulfilled yet but I see the church growing every day were sending out missionaries and building temples if Iraq and Afghanistan ever get to stop being a war zone then we would probably send missions there too we send missionaries every where

New Testament weekly update!
These parables each say something about the Jewish leaders of Christ day
The fig tree: this is to show that Jesus hungered after faith he was wanting so badly for there to be fruit on that tree but the tree was barren and so it failed and Christ told it to withered away this is the Jews because he so desperately wanted them to have faith to bear fruit . To be ready for his coming but they weren't they failed and were cursed and
The second son: the Jews are the second son who say they are preparing and ready to believe on the messiah but are not they talk and talk but do not act on what they say they are hypocrites. I think the first son might be the gentiles they are not waiting for the savior but when he comes the listen and change
The husbandmen murdered the prophets and murdered the son just as Christ knows they Jews will do for their own desire to remain in control and powerful
The wedding guests are especially invited to the feast but avoid the invite they are either worldly busy rude or killers. This is the Jews the children of Israel are too busy to pay attention and too worldly some even murder the kings' servants. Just as the Jews murdered the prophets. Therefore, the host for the wedding party invites the whole town to the feast and some people show up unprepared and ungracious these are those who reject the word and possibly hypocrites the last part was still unclear to me

Mary and Martha
Mary and Martha I am fascinated by these sisters we see nit only their relationship with the savior but with each other .
I always get the Mary's mixed up so when Mary is with Martha its easier to understand what's going on. When we first meet Martha and Mary Martha is the one who worries more about the world then the lesson the savior is teaching and Christ has to chastise Martha after she comes whining to him in modern day terms I suppose the story would go like this these two relief society sisters were scheduled to plan this event a say girls camp and one sister was upset because her partner spent all her time studying her scriptures and preparing and studying the lesson so she prays to god and say dear god my partner is so concerned with the things of the sprit and isn't helping me with the catering and the décor ! wait I know is catering and décor our top priority or is it learning about the savior ….but when we see them again Martha is the one who goes out to greet him after her brother's death because Mary is frozen with grief . She tells the savoir she knows he is the Christ and that with his help all things are possible but if only he had been there her brother would not have died I think she doesn't understand the full extent of the saviors power but what she's saying is he would have been healed she does not yet realize that he will wake her brother.
It should be noted here that I love décor and this is a lesson that applies to me very personally that probably how I came up with this analogy in the first place

New Testament
The lord has the seventy go before him to prepare the people. He counsels them to travel light without money or provisions, to accept the sanctuary and food from those they meet in the town, and to bless them. To stay in the house that first offers them and accept what they offer not go from house to house .the important part here I think Is to trust in god that someone will take care of you. The seventy are sent to heal the sick and teach the words of the savoir. Christ teaches that those who ignore the seventy shall be doomed in the last day for shunning his prophets in verse 16 Christ teaches that their voice and what they teach is the same as his voice and those who reject them reject Christ . Christ gives them the power to reject devils and he blesses them to be safe from snakes and scorpions. How cool is that I am a servant of Christ the lord and am therefore snake proof. Then Christ prays to his father because he is grateful for the seventy and tells them how they are blessed to understand so many things. Christ organized his church with twelve apostles and then he called the seventy the seventy then go out among the people to bless heal and teach them. We just had a general authority at my stake conference and he came and thought us the same as those seventy did in Christ's time. The seventy are special witness of Christ today we call more than one group of seventy we have like four seventies to teach and travel as apostolic priesthood holders .

New Testament thought of the week is a little short cause I just got my wisdom teeth out!
Jesus was on the mountain praying while storm raged and he disciples were on the sea and so he walked to his disciples on the water. I love how he does this so calmly because it is the most direct route and the fastest way but his disciples are so shocked even they have seen him raise the dead the miracle of transportation was somehow more amazing than that . then peter tries to walk towards him but is scared because of the raging storm and starts to fall so Jesus has to fish him out and bring him back to the boat and he is saddened by how shocked they were cant they see that all things are done through him that by Christ all things are possible

The Footprints of God By: Ken Brown
In the deepest sleep one night I dreamed
That on the beach I walked.
God was by my side each step
And quietly we talked.
Then on the sky my life was flashed;
The visions all serene.
Two sets of footprints in the sand were there in every scene.
But then I noticed in some scenes of suffering, pain, and strife....
Just a single set of footprints At the worts times of my life.
''God....you said you'd stay by me in good times and in bad....
Why then did you leave me each time my life was sad?"
''My precious child" God answerd, "When your life had pain, I knew; The single set of footprints were the times I carried you"

New Testament thought of the week!
John the Baptist,
Okay so I am doing I bit of choice one and two in my blog post today.
Therefore, john sent his followers to go ask Jesus if he was the one they were all waiting for. (This is in Mathew 11 and Luke 7) and he showed them miracles .
If I was a disciple of john the Baptist, I think I would return say something like this to john. say wow this guy is really spiritual. He has preformed all these miracles and can forgive sins. All these signs point to him so this person must be the messiah. You were right all along. I think they would be a little embarrassed don't you? John already told them to go follow Jesus. Now john is in prison and he has to show them that they need to go follow the messiah because they do not get it. Therefore, he sends them with this question as a learning experience John already knows Jesus is the messiah their cousins Mary told Elizabeth what Gabriel said. John had heard the voice of the lord say this is my son and he had seen a sign from the Holy Ghost in the form of a dove. I really got I lot clearer understanding of this from the institute manual the way it sates things so simply really helps me figure this out .

New testament thought of the week
I decided to choose three beatitudes that I felt I needed improving in. That by applying them to myself I will have more blessedness aka greater joy in my life because of these things.
Blessed are the poor in spirit this is defined in the institute manual as the need for the sprit or being dependent on the spirit I guess I saw this as a hunger that can only be feed by spiritual growth a desire for spiritual growth . I feel lately that my own growth has become stagnant and my ability to acknowledge my complete reliance on my savior has become somehow frustrated sometimes that I should be able to accomplish more with my own power that is a lie . It is important to remember that I am broke and I rely daily on my saviors care to make it by. Blessed Are They That Hunger and Thirst After Righteousness I kind of saw this as being the same as being poor in spirit but I geuss it also means that I should desire to have righteousness . blessed are the peace makers lately I seem to be arguing with every one in my life and reading this helped me to realize that if I continue on this path I will become a trouble maker and that's not who I think I want to be I want to have greater joy by bring peace not causing strife

What I am reading in new testament class
(8-14) The Sermon on the Mount Is Our
Constitution for Perfection
"In that matchless Sermon on the Mount, Jesus has
given us eight distinct ways by which we might
receive this kind of joy. Each of his declarations is
begun by the word 'Blessed.' Blessedness is defined
as being higher than happiness. 'Happiness comes
from without and is dependent on circumstances;
blessedness is an inward fountain of joy in the soul
itself, which no outward circumstances can seriously
affect.' (Dummelow's Commentary) These
declarations of the Master are known in the literature
of the Christian world as the Beatitudes and have been
referred to by Bible commentators as the preparation
necessary for entrance into the kingdom of heaven.
For the purposes of this discussion may I speak of
them as something more than that as they are
applied to you and me. They embody in fact THE
CONSTITUTION FOR A PERFECT LIFE." (Lee,
Decisions for Successful Living, p. 56.)
How can the Sermon on the Mount help you to
become as your Father in heaven? Has it occurred to
you as you read this sermon, that Jesus is actually
describing the qualities of an exalted person? With
this in mind, the Beatitudes become steps of
perfection that enable us to truly love God and our
fellowmen. Study the following commentaries on the
Beatitudes:
Turning from the love of the world to the Love of God
1. Blessed Are the Poor in Spirit
"To be poor in spirit is to feel yourselves as the
spiritually needy, ever dependent upon the Lord
for your clothes, and your food and the air you
breathe, your health, your life; realizing that no
day should pass without fervent prayer of
thanksgiving, for guidance and forgiveness and
strength sufficient for each day's need."
2. Blessed Are They That Mourn
"To mourn, as the Master's lesson here would
teach, one must show that 'godly sorrow that
worketh repentance' and wins for the penitent a
forgiveness of sins and forbids a return to the
deeds of which he mourns."
3. Blessed Are the Meek
"A meek man is defined as one who is not easily
provoked or irritated and forbearing under injury
or annoyance. Meekness is not synonymous with
weakness. The meek man is the strong, the
mighty, the man of complete self-mastery. He is
the one who has the courage of his moral
convictions, despite the pressure of the gang or
the club."
4. Blessed Are They That Hunger and Thirst
After Righteousness
"Did you ever hunger for food or thirst for water
when just a crust of stale bread or a sip of tepid
water to ease the pangs that distressed you seem
to be the most prized of all possessions? If you
have so hungered then you may begin to
understand how the Master meant we should
hunger and thirst after righteousness. It's that
hungering and thirsting that leads those away
from home to seek fellowship with saints in
sacrament services and that induces worship on
the Lord's Day wherever we are. It is that which
prompts fervent prayer and leads our feet to holy
temples and bids us be reverent therein." Learning to love our fellowmen
5. Blessed Are the Pure in Heart
"If you would see God, you must be pure. There
is in Jewish writings the story of a man who saw
an object in the distance, an object that he
thought was a beast. As it drew nearer he could
perceive it was a man and as it came still closer
he saw it was his friend. You can see only that
which you have eyes to see. Some of the
associates of Jesus saw him only as a son of
Joseph the carpenter. Others thought him to be a
wine-bibber or a drunkard because of his words.
Still others thought he was possessed of devils.
Only the righteous saw him as the Son of God.
Only if you are the pure in heart will you see
God, and also in a lesser degree will you be able
to see the 'God' or good in man and love him
because of the goodness you see in him. Mark
well that person who criticizes and maligns the
man of God or the Lord's anointed leaders in his
Church. Such a one speaks from an impure
heart."
6. Blessed Are the Merciful
"Our salvation rests upon the mercy we show to
others. Unkind and cruel words, or wanton acts
of cruelty toward man or beast, even though in
seeming retaliation, disqualify the perpetrator in
his claims for mercy when he has need of mercy
in the day of judgment before earthly or heavenly
tribunals. Is there one who has never been
wounded by the slander of another whom he
thought to be his friend? Do you remember the
struggle you had to refrain from retribution?
Blessed are all you who are merciful for you
shall obtain mercy!"
7. Blessed Are the Peacemakers
"Peacemakers shall be called the children of God.
The troublemaker, the striker against law and
order, the leader of the mob, the law-breaker are
prompted by motives of evil and unless they
desist will be known as the children of Satan
rather than God. Withhold yourselves from him
who would cause disquieting doubts by making
light of sacred things for he seeks not for peace
but to spread confusion. That one who is
quarrelsome or contentious, and whose
arguments are for other purposes than to resolve
the truth, is violating a fundamental principle laid
down by the Master as an essential in the

Why do I feel so guilty?
New Testament Class!
So once a week I am going to do a special post for my religion class. Here is the first one! I am studying the New Testament on my off block. It is partly to keep me from going crazy the other part is I am excited to study the new testament! Seminary feels like forever ago and I do not know that much. so this is going to be good for me.
1. Why was John hesitant to baptize Jesus? Because he knew Christ was his savior and that he needed Christ's atonement he said I need your help why do you want to be baptized by me.
2. What is taught here about the Holy Ghost? The holy ghost is a personage .the sign of the dove is a sign given by the holy ghost to john to confirm Christ as the son of god because the dove symbolizes truth and Satan cannot impersonate truth this part was deep and a little beyond me but that's what I under stood
3. Jesus Christ said he must be baptized in order to full fill all righteousness. List three reasons why Jesus Christ was baptized.
1. Christ was baptized to set an example so others would follow him.
2. Christ was baptized because baptism is a required sacred ordinance and a commandment.
3. so that he would be able to receive the holy ghost So John could be a witness of Christ and people would know him
4. What evidence is found in Mathew 3 16 -17 that the father son and holy ghost are three separate personages in the god head? they are listed as doing different things Christ is being Baptized the father is speaker and the holy ghost is descending in the sign of a dove . one being is not doing all three things at once it would say so , they are three separate beings .

Michelle Lanae walker
My name is Her Royal Highness Michelle Lanae Walker , I say that's because everyone deserves to be royalty. This is a blog about random thoughts from my random life if it doesn't seem to make much sense that's why. I have two siblings an older brother and a younger sister . I have a dog named Mac E. Mouse and I used to have a cat but she died . I really like books you can find links to my bookshelf on another website called shelfari where I rate the books I have read . My favorite color is pink because its so light . I love roses and peonies because they are such luscious flowers. I don't normally have too many visitors on this blog so it's mainly for stress release. I am sitting in a huge library in salt lake city at the moment feeling a bit out of place ,I am used to hanging out in busy loud libraries full of people who know me or in Corvallis where there are lots of loud children talking to the puss and boot sculpture . in general though i feel at home in libraries and rose gardens . some of my favorites books are Ella Enchanted,Narnia,
Holes, Running Out of Time and Horton Sits on an Egg. some of my favorite movies are the princess bride , the princess and the frog , Up and Emperors New Groove .
